This is an annual event that was started in 2010. Every fourth Monday of January, we take the time to appreciate the efforts of community managers who work so hard every dayto improve the experience of everyone they deal with.
After all, the job of a community manager is not easy, and requires a unique skillset. Your managers are diligent, creative, excellent communicators, and have fantastic people skills. We love them for it, which is why we dedicate an entire day to tell them.
CMAD is for:
Colleagues who see the hard work and want to show their appreciation.
Peoplewho have had good experiences with a community manager.
If you fit into any of the three categories, join the web-a-thon on January 23rd, which will be broadcasting live from Washington, DC. You can expect all sorts of community related content – and you’ll hear from some seasoned community managers. If you are a CMGR, this is a fantastic learning opportunity for you! You can read more (and sign up for updates!) here.
Finally, make sure to send some love to your community managers on the 23rd, whether it be a thank you note, or a shout-out on Twitter (don’t forget to include hashtags #CMAD and #CMGR)!
